Believe it or not, Global Warming is a real thing. Consequently, each of us has to find a way to deal with the extreme heat that humanity has created for itself.
My last name, Dobens, has Irish origins and aside from a few boozy weekend trips to Dublin back in the day, I have not properly visited Ireland. Mylène and I thought that a great way to beat the August heat in Spain would be to rent a campervan and drive around Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way and do some exploring. As per usual, she was right. We flew into Dublin, rented the Campervan and drove straight north towards the coast, on the wrong side of the road in a 5 meter long vehicle with a clutch :)
Here we are across the street from our campground in Portrush just before sunset. It was so refreshing to smell the chilly North Atlantic while nearly alone on the beach. That's another great thing about Ireland is that once you leave Dublin, the fewer and fewer people you see. Giants Causeway was also a great visit although the weather didn't make for any outstanding photography. That was a special visit for me because Giants causeway was in an Irish fairy tale book that I used to read to my children when they were little (20 years ago) and to see it was a beautiful moment for me. There were many other great stops in our 14 day visit but I don't have the time to dive into each one right now.
Ireland is a beautiful country, leave Dublin ASAP and see the small towns and you'll thank me afterwards. maxdobens.com
