In May 2024, I visited Peñalajo, Spain to try catch a glimpse of the nearly extinct Lince Iberico or Iberian Lynx. No more than 1700 are left alive on the entire planet, of which 1400 are in Spain and 12-14 of those are here on this 2500 hectare (6100 acre) private reserve. In my very last session on day 3, I got insanely lucky and had a 30 minute encounter during which I captured 1500 images. During the Golden Hour, a 2 year-old male walked past me and into a thicket where he rapidly caught and devoured a rabbit. Then, he strolled back towards me to get an after dinner drink at the watering hole, a mere 5 meters away. Here are the absolute best ones from the 33 hours I sat silently alone in a hide over a 3 day period. #11hoursaday
